Real Animals at the Drive-Thru

The deer stopped by again this afternoon, to look over what they evidently consider the lunch buffet in the yard. I was in the postponement stage of writing the final draft of the Ethics paper due tomorrow, so it was nice to see them. It's been a cloudy, dark afternoon; with the lights on in the dining room, they could see me, too.

The herd had a message. A doe grazed the terraced flower beds, and then walked up to the window to make sure I got it: they want more nasturtiums, and they want them now.

I never knew that deer were such picky eaters. And so demanding!
